So many were taking shots at Benjamin Netanyahu for months, from within his own country and out. The Israeli media’s hits on him was very similar to the hits the US mainstream typically dishes out onto conservative republicans.

Polling? Well that went much the same as well as it does in the US, with (leading) polls leaning toward the Zionist Union (led by Isaac Herzog) up until the very end.

With virtually all the votes in, it is being reported out of Israel that Netanyahu’s Likud Party has secured 29 or 30 of the 120 seats in Parliament, compared the the Zionist Union which won 24 seats.

All of this sounds so very similar to how our own General Elections went in our US Senate last November from the buildup of opposition, to the actual win of conservatives despite what the media was preaching.

“I am proud of the Israeli people that, in the moment of truth, knew how to separate between what’s important or what’s not and to stand up for what’s important,” stated Netanyahu to an excited crowd Wednesday morning at the Tel Aviv Fairgrounds. “For the most important thing for all of us, which is real security, social economy and strong leadership.”

The video below was some of the first news to break on this election so he frequently says “not official” but it is official as of our posting here at PNN.
