Everyone feels tired from time to time. Usually, this is nothing more than the result of losing out on a little sleep. But if you find that your tired feeling persists, then there might be a deeper underlying problem which needs addressing. There are a huge number of reasons you might be feeling fatigued, and as such, it is not the kind of problem you want to just ignore. If you leave it alone, you might be allowing an underlying health problem to worsen. Let’s look at some of the things that might be causing your chronic fatigue.

Sinus Problems

There are many things you might think could cause your fatigue, but you would be unlikely to blame your sinuses. However, there is a sinus condition which can lead to a prolonged and extreme feeling of fatigue, and it’s known as chronic sinusitis. It’s possible that you have suffered from a short-term sinusitis before, in which case you will know that it involves symptoms such as a poor sense of smell, a feeling of nausea, pain in the jaw – and, of course, fatigue. Chronic sinusitis is simply sinusitis which does not respond well to medical treatment or lasts for a long time. If left untreated, it can lead to the sinuses never being able to clear properly, which can b painful and a nuisance.


You might be surprised at how often people allow themselves to become dehydrated. We tend to think of dehydration as a severe thing, and it is if left alone. But on the other end of the scale, it is a minor thing which you might not even notice at first. Subtle dehydration can still be damaging, however, and it is best to avoid it altogether. Fatigue is one of the sure signs that you could be dehydrated, so if you are always tired it’s not a bad idea to try and drink some more water in your daily life.

Screen Usage

The body clock uses a chemical known as melanin to instruct the body when it is time to sleep. As the sun goes down, melanin is produced throughout the body, and it causes a feeling of tiredness and sleepiness. But there are certain things which can interact with this process – artificial lights, mostly – and the worst culprit for this is the use of screens. If you use screens regularly, you will probably find that you are fatigued throughout your day. In this case, try to keep your screen usage to a minimum so that you can get a little more sleep. Limiting screens in the evening is likely to be especially effective.

Low Levels Of B12

You know that you need many vitamins and minerals in order to function properly. One of particular importance is B12. This vitamin enables you to have energy throughout the day, and also aids in sleep at the same time. If you are tired all the time, you might have a B12 deficiency. Only Your doctor can tell you if this is true, so you should be checked out for it. If necessary, you can have injections of B12 on a regular basis.
